Software Engineer

Job Summary:

As a core team member of our small, agile, application team you will work full-stack on our patient education platform. You will develop a strong health care industry domain knowledge and an understanding of the needs of cancer patients. 

The Successful Candidate will...

  • Design, build and maintain scalable, user-focused web and service applications using Ruby on Rails, Golang/Kubernetes, React.js, JavaScript or similar technologies
  • Support engineering projects and initiatives within patient education squad through all aspects of the Scrum Agile process
  • Work across the stack (front-end, back-end, infrastructure) in existing patient education engine, while developing new features to further product and engineering goals, including integrating into a new patient portal

What you will bring to us

  • Some industry experience developing with Ruby on Rails and React.js, AWS tools, SQL and NoSql data stores, or similar
  • Experience doing test-driven development on object-oriented web frameworks
  • A good understanding of relational databases and how to employ them when building a rich web application
  • Solid experience in web technologies and web application development with a thorough understanding of the underlying why and how of the tools you use
  • Your understanding and experience with performance issues, tuning, scaling, and security when working with the web
  • Your bias for action, and experience making things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Curious and flexible -- someone who wants to sink their teeth into every aspect of application development, and wants to develop deep knowledge about the health care industry and its technology

This position is full time - currently 100% remote during the COVID pandemic. Candidates local to Seattle, WA area are preferred, but we are open to remote longer term for the right person.
